About Berna
Berna Lee 李映晴 is a Chinese astrologer, researcher and educator, specializing in Chinese cultural astronomy and astrology. She is currently pursuing her PhD. Berna has spoken at leading conferences in the UK and has been invited by the Faculty of Astrological Studies to teach at the Oxford Summer School in 2026. She also pioneered the first academic course in Chinese cultural astronomy and astrology at the University of Wales Trinity Saint David.
A 45th-generation royal descendant of the Tang Dynasty (唐朝) and lineage bearer of the royal astrology tradition from her family lineage passed on by Master Yang Junsong (楊筠松). Berna is the first woman in her family to practice astrology professionally. Her mission is to make Chinese astrology accessible, relevant, and inclusive—empowering individuals to understand their unique place within the cosmos. Her research centers on the interplay between fate and free will (命運 ming yun), advancing astrology beyond symbolism to serve as a practical guide for growth and agency in the modern world.

Pursuing her PhD in Chinese cultural astronomy and astrology, Berna is building on her MA where she received a distinction on her research. She has since invited to speak at conferences and innovated a course 2025 at the Sophia Centre at Univeristy of Wales Trinity Saint David that is the first of its kind in the academia field.
